Nearby residents said a “big bang” alerted them to the crash between a grey Mazda sedan and a Ducati motorbike.
“(The rider) was bleeding quite a lot. We got some towels and wrapped his head,” one witness said.
“I called the ambo and … luckily a lot of ambos came, police and fire brigade — they were here pretty much instantly.”

Daniella Johnson said she was on the phone when she heard the crash.
“There were already a few people on the scene (when I came out). He looked to be in a bad condition,” she said.
“(The rider) was conscious, we spoke to him. He did complain of a sore in his eye and pain in his arm but I don’t think he realised the trauma to his head because it was probably shock that had set in.”

The rider, 52, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.
Johnson said the rider was wearing a helmet but it came off in the crash and was found on the side of the road.
“I’m hoping he’s OK. At this point in time I just hope he pulls through.”
It is understood the Mazda driver was uninjured and authorities are now working to determine what triggered the crash.
