A senior Mongol has become the first person in WA convicted of breaching an anti-consorting notice after he invited bikie pals he was banned from associating with to his wedding.

Jason Gastarov, 47, appeared in Rockingham Magistrates Court on Monday, having been charged earlier in the day with six counts of consorting with a named offender on two or more occasions.

Authorities said Gastarov’s breaches were carried out between September, 2022 and June, 2023 and included his wedding, where a covert police drone captured him mingling with underworld royalty.

In court, he admitted to flaunting a police order and pleaded guilty to all six charges.

The maximum penalty is five years in jail but he was only fined $2000.

Gastarov had been slapped with an unlawful consorting notice in August, aimed at stopping him from associating with a “number of named offenders” for three years.

There are many people the order prevents him from seeing, including a number of other known bikie associates.

Gang crime squad detectives raided a Rockingham property early Monday morning, arresting and charging Gastarov at his workplace.

The Rebels boss turned Mongol is the second bikie issued with the order and the first charged.

Police said the action comes amid a “continued effort to stamp out criminal gang activity in Western Australia”.
