Major Crash detectives are working to understand why a van left a regional WA road and struck a tree, critically injuring two people.
A White Toyota HiAce van was travelling north on Wickepin-Corrigin Rd in Kunjin, 200km southeast of Perth, when the crash unfolded just before 6pm on Wednesday.
Two passengers, a 25-year-old woman and 36-year-old man, were critically injured and both were rushed to hospital, where they remain.
The driver and a third passenger managed to escape serious injury.

Detectives are hoping witnesses who saw the van before the crash can supply information or mobile phone and dashcam vision to assist their investigation.
