Bodycam vision showed an officer surging past another policeman who was on foot trying to chase down the suspect.
The fast-moving officer then used a flashlight to pinpoint a man lying low in shrubs off the side of the road, before swooping.
“Police responded and we believe this is the first instance in WA of an officer commandeering a civilian’s e-scooter to arrest a suspect attempting to flee arrest,” a police spokesperson said.
