A man has been shot in a town on Perth’s outskirts on Saturday.
He was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with gunshot wounds as the gunman fled and police locked down the surrounding area for residents’ safety.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Needham Road and Marauba Cl at Wooroloo after midday, WA Police said.

“St John WA and the RAC Rescue helicopter are responding to the injured man,” police said.
“Police remain in the area, including the Tactical Response Group and other specialist units.”

One man allegedly involved in the shooting has been taken into custody, but it is unclear whether there are others involved.
“Police continue to search the area to determine whether there are other persons involved in the incident,” police said.
“While that search is undertaken, residents are urged to remain indoors and keep their doors locked.
“Any suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately on 000.”
